The Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia (SHPA) is pleased to announce its new PharmCare Conference. This event is about improving communications, connections and care. Accredited, onsite aged care and GP pharmacists will have the opportunity to focus on centralising the patient experience through their practice.

The conference aims to foster collaboration and innovation at a time of unparalleled opportunity for pharmacists of all experience levels. Our invited specialist speakers will bring powerful insights from the cutting-edge of practice, illuminating pathways to onsite roles in residential aged care and at transitions of care.
PharmCare Conference 2023 Program
The PharmCare conference’s comprehensive two-day program includes key clinical updates, focused skills development, a sweeping state of the nation and plentiful moments to network, connect and enjoy the sights and tastes of harbourside Hobart.
The conference program will cover trending themes such as person centred care, elder abuse, psychotropic use in older people and caring for the carers. Workshops are embedded in the program covering themes on deprescribing and clinical conundrums. Other program topics include:
- Insights from the Old people’s home for 4 year olds
- Update on the Department of Health on-site aged care pharmacist program
- Ageing well with HIV
- Dementia and delirium focus session
- Cognitive assessment tools and the ISLAND clinic
- Korongee Dementia Village model of care
Accreditation
This activity has been accredited for 11.75 hours of Group-1 CPD of which 8.25 hours can be converted to Group-2 CPD (for a total of 20 CPD credits), suitable for inclusion in an individual pharmacist’s CPD plan.

PharmCare 2023 will be held at the Hotel Grand Chancellor, Hobart, Tasmania. Conference delegates are eligible for exclusive accommodation rates.
