Occupational Therapist – Community Paediatrics

A leading non for profit with over 25 years of expertise in supporting children and young people living with disabilities is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a community paediatric role with their supportive, multidisciplinary team in Western Sydney, NSW.

This role will see the successful candidate delivering person and family-centered intervention and support for children and young people with disabilities or developmental delays. They will operate across various settings such as homes, schools, community and online platforms, collaborating within a supportive environment to contribute to:

  • Goal-setting
  • Strategy development
  • Implementation
  • Empowering clients and families in areas like self-care, sensory processing, play, motor skills, and emotional regulation.

The position also involves facilitating group programs and supervision of junior clinicians and students and opportunities exist for specialisation in areas such as Assistive Technology or Home Modifications.

Selection Criteria

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy with AHPRA registration
  • Professional experience and strong commitment to working with children and young people
  • 2+ years experience
  • Strong organisational skills and adaptability
  • Familiarity with person and family-centered, strength-based approaches
  • Knowledge of inclusion, cultural sensitivities, and diverse community needs
  • Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWC) Clearance or willingness to obtain
  • Valid Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) Clearance or willingness to obtain
  • Current driver’s license and access to own car
  • Fully vaccinated for Covid-19 (3 doses) or possess an accepted medical exemption certificate
