Group work is increasingly the most cost-effective means of providing services for New Zealanders seeking help from government agencies, non-governmental organisations, and private practices, offering hope that the escalating demand for services will be met, now and in the future.
This experiential workshop offers the opportunity to engage in intensive personal and professional development over a 5-day period. The process involves self-presentation, interaction, teaching, coaching, supervised practice, making assessments, creating effective interventions, reviewing transcriptions of previous sessions, and involvement in each other’s learning. No previous group work leadership experience is necessary.
