
The Global Advanced Practice Summit – to be held 13 May 2025 – is an innovative, 24 hour online conference designed to bring together advanced health practitioners, thought leaders and policy makers from around the world. This focused event will provide a high-impact, accessible learning experience, concentrating on advancing practice, leadership, and innovation in allied health.
By gathering diverse voices and expertise, the Summit aims to create a robust, ongoing knowledge-sharing platform that supports advanced practitioners in evolving their roles and impact on a global scale, as well as promoting:
- International Collaboration: Facilitate a global dialogue and sharing of best practices to empower practitioners to operate at full scope.
- Guidance and Advocacy: Offer international guidance, advocacy, and practical implementation strategies for advanced practice scopes.
- Research Sharing: Disseminate research and evidence related to advanced practice.
The Summit builds on the success of the Global Advanced Practice Network (formerly known as AHP Global Advanced Practice Community of Practice) throughout 2023 and 2024, creating international linkages, connection and shared learning opportunities across jurisdictions and disciplines.

Summit Format:
- Focused on Advanced Practice in Allied Health and Nursing: The Summit will deliver a concentrated exploration of advanced practice, skill development, and leadership, designed for a multidisciplinary audience.
- 24-Hour Staggered Sessions: Sessions will run across a 24-hour period to ensure accessibility for a global audience, accommodating different time zones.
- Multiple Key Note Presentations: Scheduled to allow attendees from every time zone the realistic opportunity to attend at least two key note presentations.
- Content across a maximum of 10 streams, with practice areas identified across streams: Enabling attendees the flexibility they need, to identify and focus on the content and sessions they are most interested in.
- Connection and Interactivity: The Summit will feature live sessions, interactive panel discussions, and virtual networking opportunities to facilitate connection and collaboration. Timeslots will also be scheduled across the day for impromptu connection between attendees wishing to continue their discussions or plan future activities.
Interactive and Accessible Content Delivery:
- Standardised Poster Submissions: Poster presentations will be developed in a standardised format, hosted on a searchable resource page for easy reference and available for PDF download.
- Optional Recorded Presentations: All presenters can enhance their posters with a maximum 10-minute recorded overview, offering flexibility for attendees and speakers alike.
- Live Panel Discussions: Identified in the Summit program by streams and areas of practice, each panel will include short introductions from panellists, followed by real-time, interactive discussions to encourage knowledge exchange.
Built-in Archiving and Content Curation:
- Organised Resource Library: Content will be numbered and tagged by topic, author, stream, area of practice and, in the case of recordings, session, allowing easy access to resources during and after the event.
- Ongoing Access to Resources: All Summit content will be available online for 2025.
- Enhanced Search Capability: Content will be easily searchable via AI-powered search, allowing participants to explore materials and enabling future subscribers to access past content.
