National Disability Services (NDS) presents a series of three workshops that will explore ways to enhance retention of allied health professionals using an employee lifecycle approach. It is recommended that all three workshops are attended, but single session registrations can also be made.

Workshop 1: Six-stage employee life cycle

Thursday August 18, 2.00pm to 3.30pm AEST

This workshop will provide an overview of the six-stage employee-life cycle: Attraction – Recruitment – Onboarding – Development – Retention – Separation and discuss the importance of considering the whole employee journey, particularly ways to attract and supporting the right person for your role as a key to workforce retention.

Workshop 2: Staff onboarding and development

Thursday September 8, 2.00pm to 3.30pm AEST

This workshop will focus on the importance of staff onboarding and development to ensure that you and your staff are clear on agreed expectations, and to help you prepare your workers to optimise productivity as quickly as possible in your organisation. We will also discuss the role of staff development to enable growth in an environment where career development opportunities are often limited.

Workshop 3: Staff retention

Thursday October 13, 2.00pm to 3.30pm AEST

This workshop will explore strategies to optimise staff retention, including organisational culture, KPIs, feedback strategies and rewards. Finally, approaches to, and the importance of managing staff separation will be explored, including ways that you can use staff separations to improve your own performance as an employer.
